Honda Civic Tour Parties Like It Is 1998
Pop-punk bands Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance will headline a huge tour for the updated Honda Civic Si Coupe. Yes, it’s 2011, not 1998. The Honda Civic Tour is a huge promotional event, meant to connect young and potential car buyers with the updated Civic Si Coupe, seen below. For some reason Honda believes targeting the under 15 crowd will help boost sales.
“With the tenth anniversary of the Civic tour and the launch of the all-new ninth generation Civic, the timing couldn’t have been better to bring back one of the biggest bands from tours past,” said Tom Peyton, Honda brand manager for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “This year’s lineup of blink-182 and My Chemical Romance is fun, exciting, hard-rocking and energetic – everything the Civic Tour has stood for over the past 10 years.”
“It’s great to be going back out on the Honda Civic Tour,” said Mark Hoppus of blink-182. “We had a blast kicking off the tour ten years ago, and this summer we’ll be taking it to the next level with our friends My Chemical Romance.”
