Tired of The Honda Insight Yet?
So, is anyone else sick of seeing the 2010 Honda Insight on TV ads and in magazines these days? Well, you better get used to it. Honda has introduced an onslaught of Insight ads over the last few weeks. Hell, even on the road you can’t miss this new vehicle. Not as a commuting vehicle, but on the back of car carrying trailers on its way to dealer lots.

It doesn’t seem as though over-exposure to the affordable hybrid Insight will end in the United States, or world wide, anytime soon. Last month in Japan, Honda’s new ride became the fastest selling car so far this year, with over 10,400 purchases in April alone. It hasn’t beaten out Honda’s Fit, yet, for top car sales of the year…but it’s only May.
We can’t blame Honda for beating the US market over its head with plugola – combine the failing car buyer market, moderate to low gasoline prices and our jobless rate growing it seems that selling cars has become more challenging than getting an Eskimo to purchase an ice box (or some other 100 year old metaphor). But Honda has two weapons in its arsenal to boost 2010 Insight sales; affordability and submersion into the American Psyche.

Hey
This article has a very interesting perspective. I think is significant here because Insight sales were so successful in Japan, and Honda hopes to mimic these sales in areas such as North America. As you mentioned, its a particularly hard sell in such a tough economy,
but the Insight really does offer a great price.
I’ve actually started my own Honda blog, and I featured the Insight – you can see it here –> http://hondachitchat.wordpress.com/
I really like this website, and you’ve got some great ideas on Honda products. I’d love some feedback and ideas on whats popular with readers. Because I work at Honda, I really get the inside scoop. Sometimes people ask me questions, and I can go right to the Parts department, or the body shop to find out information. I would love to find out what readers like…
Anyways, thanks for the videos – a great site, really!
Sorry, I mean’t to say in the first sentence, I think *advertising* is significant here because sales in japan were so successful that Honda hopes to mimic the sales here.
